| Summer has been a blur & now we're nearly at Labor Day...slow the boat down! It's been all work and working out for me this summer. The new job is still going well, but the next couple months could be tight if we don't make some deals. We can't continue to go thru the money like we are without generating revenue. Our beta's been pushed back a little. So just a little stress there but I'm still enjoying the challenge. One of my friends and I are working out with a personal trainer at our gym. Cassy's smart & fun - have a few weeks left and then will continue to work out on my own. I'm sure more things will come to mind and I'll be sure to come back and update after the holiday weekend. I will (at the least) tell you some of my dating stories. Be sure to read them when you need a laugh! So here's a track to lead you into the weekend - Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkONn8tadp4 | | |
| I must still be on a high from all that NCAA basketball because I've really enjoyed watching most of the playoffs and now the Finals. Forgot to put in a shout-out for the Celtics to win it ALL tonight! Paul Pierce has been so FUN to watch. It's so cool to be watching a Jayhawk do so well after college!! And I'm hoping with this year's draft he won't be the only one. GO, Celtics! | | |
| As you can see I'm totally out of the habit of checking my Xanga. Shame. On. Me. 'Cause I miss you guys. Well, let me catch you up on some things. The lunch I had with the founders of my old company landed me a job offer and I'm in my 3rd week working at the new place. I will definitely tell you more when I can. I have to tell you what happened with my old boss when I put my notice in, but I just have a couple minutes before I need to get back to work. I promise I'll share that in my next post. Other things are going well - I took 3 days off between jobs and saw several of my friends. A group of us went to a ballgame & had happy hour with some folks I use to work with. One of my circle of friends will be getting married over the 4th of July weekend. We're hosting a shower for her Saturday. No gigs lately. Hey, BA - I did finally delve into Justice after XFM was playing the heck out of "DVNO" great stuff! I made a mix cd with everything XFM had been playing over the past month as I got totally addicted to the new Fratellis track "Mistress Mabel" and Supergrass' "Rebel In You". OK...got to go for now. Be good. | | |
| but not my blogger buddies. Quick catch up while I get ready to go to (late) church: Still feel like I'm recovering from all the basketball fever around here. Couldn't have asked for a better season. It was unbelievable. Btw, did you guys see that Coach Larry Brown is headed back to the NBA. Get ready to place your vegas bets! Work has gone downhill. I'm bummed on several levels even though I really like the other folks in our new department. At least we're all feeling the same about the situation we're in. I started to do some looking during the past 3 weeks and I've sent out a couple resumes. Had an interview with a cool start-up that configures digital signage for everything from retail to sports stadiums. One of the founders created the way you can order movies at hotel stays. That company was eventually sold to whoever creates those First and Ten markers that show up on the tv screens when you're watching football. ...ah, the interesting things you learn while job-hunting! But the cool news is that while I was looking I ran across another start-up co-founded by the same guys that started the company where I worked for so long & eventually was laid off - my old music job. I have lunch with them tomorrow. Sounds pretty interesting...they are really going to break some ground. I won't be able to blog about it - that tells you just how cool it is. Though I could point you to some of the things written on the net about it if you're interested. BRMC was in town last weekend. Not as good a show as October, but still awesome. It was just a bit more laidback (part of that may have been the different venue.) And I got a few of my friends to go see Kids in the Hall with me. I haven't laughed so hard in AGES. Just some of the dumb (but true) stuff we've all experienced seems so much funnier from their perspective. So that's the quick wrap-up. Nothing else going on with me other than I think I still have basketball overload. That or I've developed a crush on one of our local sports guys. Hmmm. Time will tell I suppose. | | |

Tonight's the night. Saturday is in the past - though it was SO sweet to beat UNC (not Roy, UNC). We believe our program is better regardless what coach is at the helm. Coach Self tells his players they are "unstoppable" and we're as ready as anyone. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK! Let's bring back another national title!!!! | | |
